The Tulare High School Foundation was specifically established to be a tax-deductible means for businesses and individuals to support Tulare Joint Union High School District and its Schools, Clubs, Teams, Academies, and other sanctioned organizations and activities, like FFA and Band. Funds raised by the Tulare High School Foundation can be used for the purchase of equipment, supplies, instruments, and experiences that are not covered by the district budget. Our goal is to be a portal through which individual and corporate funds can be distributed as grants to students or staff who apply.
The Tulare High School Foundation has two fundraising events each year that offer sponsorship opportunities to the community and funding for grants and projects. Both events are a great time to celebrate the public and private partnerships that allow for a more enriching school experience for local students.
With the foundation’s support, we were able to purchase a high-quality, durable camera that captures the essence of Mission Oak’s “We Will” spirit. It is truly a blessing to give journalism students the opportunity to experience a piece of pro-grade photography equipment.
Our three comprehensive high schools received a grant two years ago to help fund an author visit to each of the sites. The grant helped our students listen to and ask questions of an award-winning author. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the students who attending and those who are underclassmen still talk about it. It is rare that students in small towns such as Tulare have an opportunity to see and hear published authors speak.
